True ... but it is currently the urban setting where the biggest gains can be made, and the problem of emissions is most critical.
Plus, you can actually save on longer, faster trips, by having a less powerful engine that isn't worked to its "full" potential (sort of how locomotive and marine diesels work), and it's boosted by power siphoned off the electrical grid overnight.
However I will still, and for the third time, stand by my affirmation that fuel-cell Hydrogen is where it's at, as it gives the benefits of both electricity AND internal combustion in a nice, lightweight package.
