the easiest way i got to do it was in sections.
do the first piece just past the first heat strip, then with a new razor blade/craft knife carefully cut along the heat strip.
the next piece you want about 2-3 heatstrip width, measure it to overlap the first piece and just past the bottom of the heat strip you measured it to, so when you carefully cut along the strips in line with heatstrips the strips will hide the joins. as long as you use a new sharp blade you wont need to press to hard resulting in damaging the heatstrips, also use plenty fairy liquid solution in a spray bottle to stop it sticking wrong especially on the overlapping pieces.
