The best advice is to phone around all of the dealers within reasonable driving distance (and maybe a few further afield.) Prices for keys and programming seem to vary considerably, so get quotes from them all and go to whoever's cheapest.
If a 'not so local' one turns out to have the best deal but you don't want to drive all that way, then try your local dealer and see if they'll match the price. Sometimes it pays to be cheeky
Oh, and once you achieve 'veteran user' status on RenaultForums (25 posts or more) you're entitled to a parts discount at REA network dealers. I'm not sure what that'll get you off the price of the key, but it's better than a poke in the eye.
