Thanks very much for that advice.
I've just spoken to my local Renault dealer and I'm pleased to report that the price is actually £98 for my vehicle. The person who quoted me £130 was giving me the worst case scenario figure. Still a lot of money but c'est la vie.
Also the guy I spoke to was kind enough to offer to get me the code for my tape/cd system in the car for free, that saves £10 too (I don't need it yet, but I would if the battery went flat etc).
Word of advice for anyone considering buying a second hand key from auction websites or anywhere else to reduce the cost. The Renault Parts guy I spoke to said that Renault categorically would not touch these with a barge pole. Second hand keys cannot be re-programmed to another car, so the best you can do with it is open the door (once you have had a new blade cut to replace the existing one in the fob = £6 in your local key cut shop). AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
