Re: Renault Megane - Engines - Chugging Megane - Toxic Fume Filter

Hi All

My son has a megane 1.6 16 valve and today the toxic fume filter system warning light has come on along with the service light. Thing is though the car runs and starts a dream and there is no loss of power on any aspect of driving it, so I was wondering if this light came on for any other reason than the coil packs failing ? Does it come on for failing lambda or catalytic converter problems or something similar. I have got a Laguna and had a coil go on that and it drove as many have described on here with almost no power at all. I`m a little perplexed as I have non of the classic coil failure symptoms on the Megane but that`s what the warning lights seem to indicate. Any advice or previous experience would be very much appreciated...
