id start with borrowing a multimeter
setting it to amps
disconnect earth and put one lead on bare terminal and other on bare post

see what the reading is
up to 0.3 amps is acceptable

remove one fuse at a time and see if reading is any better
then remove alt pos wires ( faulty diode in alt causing drain)
if a certain fuse removal causes reading to drop then thats what circuit to check thoroughly

common ones are
glow plug pre heat relays sticking
alternator diode gone in rectifier causing backfeed as above.
boot light switch causing boot light to stay on
wrong bulb fitted in some types of holder
battery harness

or just a duff battery not holding its charge

any garage should have found the reason for drain in about 30 mins on most cars even canbus systems that arnt as scary as they sound.
as each can reciever module still needs a conventional power source

4 out of 3 people dont get fractions
