I can't see any reason why it can't be undone and swapped over.

There will probably be a few fiddly springclips holding the barrel in place, but if you have the patience (and an extra pair of hands), then it should be straightforward enough.

Take some pics as you go, as not only will that help with re-assembly, but you could compose a 'how-to' guide which many members (including myself) would find interesting & useful.
