I would reckon that they will be held by some self-tapping screws, or similar.

Are you replacing them? If so, look at the replacement items, these will indicate how the grills are mounted.

It might be an idea to undo the top of the bumper on the slam panel and have a good look & feel around, rather than applying brute force with ignorance - you may endup either splitting the bumper or destroying the mounting points for the grills.
