Initiale was the flagship. I have the GT which is quite rare, it has a very nice red and black leather interior which I don't think came on other models. I would also recommend the Laguna II.
The only thing I don't have is a sunroof but some GTs do.
You want to check if a car you are looking at has any of these (or any that are important to you):
Sat Nav / Bluetooth Phone / Voice recognition
Electric / Heated seats
Rear Door Blinds
Cabasse Sound System
Keyless entry and keyless go
Probably other bits I can't think of!
When looking at a car obviously you want to see regular
changes in the history and cambelt / waterpump should have been done by now on a II by age if not by mileage. Lack of regular
change on any car can bring on
failure due to
Check ALL the electrics. Weak points on Renaults are often windows and heaters. If the window moves in "steps" don't worry that's a 2 minute fix - just check they do open and close. Also the voice recognition can stop working as by design the two small wires coming from the stalk snap. If that doesn't work then a new stalk was about £100 IIRC
Good luck - there is plenty of good advice on this forum.
