Here ,Ireland customs n excise bods cruise the roads lookin to pounce on foreign reg cars that are "non holiday" ones.. ie if theyve been around awhile.

These would be generally more upmarket mercs,beemers etc that cost a lot more here even second hand.

Legally ,if you bring a car into the country "to use like a normal car", if your a foreigner, resident here/working here etc etc you get up to 12 months free of hassle from the customs anyway, as long as youve owned the car for more than 6 months prior to its arrival here.
France , I dont know on but since were all happy eu people you would think it would be the same..
It never did happen on new car price harmonisation tho did it ;0

Currently in coup's garage:
RM III coupe 1.5dci FVT,Audi TT Mk1 ,a bike and too much rubbish.
