Re: Espace IV - rear brake caliper removal with worn disk?

So I finally got around to having another go, but more problems...

Got the caliper off the disc no problem after filing off the lip, but the piston doesn't go back in far enough to allow me space to fit the new pads I'm turning it clockwise, and it does go in a little, but not far enough.

Anyone had this? I am assuming a seized piston somehow.

I had to refit the worn pads - outside one is actually OK, but the inside one is pretty worn so I need to find a solution soon.

If I need to rebuild the caliper, I am wondering how easy it is to file down the new pads by 50% instead - this would allow me to fit pads and get me through the winter, I can then tackle the caliper/piston issue next spring (I'm now in Switzerland, cold winters!).

Any thoughts or ideas?

Thanks, Richard
