Re: Clio 98-01 1.2: What to look for ?.

There are sites which list problems for particular models/makes..
The only renaults Ive owned are a renault 9 and my present one..
For that era and price I would go for a mk1 vauxhall tigra 1.4 . That one Ive had a lot of experience of.
Its a real "young womans car". I mean its still very stylish , very economical/powerfull for the size, ins should be low and for me the main problem was body rot/sills and the rear(which admittedly had been rammed at one stage.
What I mean is If I was looking for a 98-01 first car, that would be ny first preference and its in the price range and has good up to 100k relliability.
Yes it wasnt a "muscle car " but it sure looks better than a corsa of that era/faster n near same economy , only comparable thing would be a civic coupe and that was 1.5 , or a ford puma but i think that was 1.7 and didnt look as cute ;0

I got over the "you have a woman's car m'lord thing "

Currently in coup's garage:
RM III coupe 1.5dci FVT,Audi TT Mk1 ,a bike and too much rubbish.
