Re: m.o.t failure please help
hey done lots of work on my car before put in for m.o.t 1 of which was replaced my front brake pads now i'l list excactly what it failed on
001 nearside rear brake pipe excessively corroded [3.6.b.2c]
002 nearside rear (load va) brake valve leaking [3.6.a.1]
003 front brakes imbalanced [3.7.a.2d]
brakes failures: RBT front brake imbalance: 29%
now what does this mean?? is it a big job to rectify it?? can this be done myself or would i be better putting it in a garage?? also the rear brake pipe are they just standard brake pipes or do you need to order from renualt??
If by brake pipe they mean the brake hose then its a 5 minute job and should sort out problem number 3. The hose can be brought for a couple of pounds.
For number 2 you'd have to know why it is leaking. Cant see it being anything too serious. Worst case scenario would be a new caliper.
All of it should be doable for around £50 tops.
Currently in samlmort's garage:
