Clio Cam Belt.

Looking for some advice, my Clio 1.4 RN '96 has a suspected broken cam belt. Is it possible to change this without removing the engine? Also would it be worth while to buy a haynes manual? Looking to do the job myself as i can't afford a mechanic to do it, and hope for the best that there is no other damage.

Thanks in advance

Hello and welcome to the forum.

The cambelt is easy enough to do,abd you don't have to remove the engine, but if I were you I'd invest in a manual.

Trouble is,I suspect that you may have damaged some of the valves,so putting a new belt on it will be a bit of a waste of time.I'd be tempted to remove the cam cover and checking the valve clearances. If any are way too big, then I'm afraid it's 'off with it's head'.

Anymore help/info you need, please feel free to ask.

I'd rather push my Alfa than drive a BMW....
