electronic warning light at startup

as of yesterday sometimes when i start the car the electronic warning light stays on and the car will stall after 2-3 seconds of uneven tickover. this is only rectified when i leave my foot on the gas for 30-40 seconds and then the light goes out and the car drives like normal. this is an intermittant problem and doesent happen every time i start the engine. i have filled it up with more petrol and its nothing to do with cold start up because i turned it on it was fine, went somewhere got back in the car after 30 seconds and it did it.

any advice guys???

much appreciated

the problem with intermittent faults is that they are a pain. Could be a TDC sensor
