i was also thinkin of getting the fog lihgts changed aswell if i'm gonna do the headlights, so could you tell me which onesare required for them aswel?
is it worth changing parjking and side lights?

Many Thanks

also just looking through some of the old threads i noticed a HID conversion kit, anyone tried it? is it worth the money?
maybe i should jst try the bulbs first before getting a conversion kit..

p.s. these xenon bulbs.. do they take more wattage? or same as the halogen?

Hi,

The xenon gas filled bulbs are the same wattage as normal bulbs, I just got two osram xenon gas bulbs for mine from ebay, cheap. They do make a difference, get the normal white ones, any colour are not as bright.

They are not available for side lights as far as I know.

Just ask the seller which bulbs for your car.

and apparently they are some for the parking/side lights (501) but the seller told me they a waste of money coz they only like 5 watt cant reeally see the difference

Thanks for your help.

i hate xenon lights as when i drive and a oncoming car has them fitted i get blinded by the intense brightness:confused:

but to be fair they must get the same from xenon lights in return :d

well worth the bit extra money to get them and i agree with davesssjust get plain white ones

Please bear in mind that HID bulbs retrofitted into standard reflectors are 100% illegal and will FAIL the MOT as well as being offensive and dangerous for oncoming drivers. Obviously, this doesn't apply to the xenon gas filled conventional bulbs which davesss mentioned, although these will have a far less dramatic effect on light output than genuine ballasted 35w HID bulbs.

If you do want to go the retrofit route, please fit complete, good quality (e.g. Hella made) projector units in the existing housings and make sure they're properly levelled. You'll probably pass the MOT with this set up so long as you do it tidily and shouldn't be a nuisance to other drivers, but bear in mind that this is still technically illegal as a) the headlights won't have been E-marked as a complete unit, b) you don't have headlight washers and c) you don't have auto headlight levelling, all of which are a legal requirement for HIDs in the UK.

It might also be better to use the later Clio Si/MTV lights for the modification as these are already projectors so they'll look 'right' after the swap easily without cutting away at the backs of the reflectors as you'd have to with the stock lights.
