Just bought a damaged Clio off Ebay but cannot find the chassis number, the only number I have found is the sticker when you open the door, is the one stamped into the shell somewere.
Also Its a not quite silver colour any ideas what paint name would be its an "extreme 2" seems to be lots around this colour.
The chassis number will be stamped in many places but they will be well hidden; this is to help police identify stolen cars. It should also have a plainly visible one somewhere. Was the car categorised by an insurer and maybe had the plate removed because of it?
Doesn't it also have a chassis number, out of reach, behind the windscreen that can be read from the outside?
You can always phone a dealer and ask them where the numbers are on that model, if no one here has a handbook for that model.
If all else fails, the onboard computer will have it but it will need to be read with a diag tool (i.e. a dealer or independent perhaps). I take it you need this to check it against the V5c. Yeah?
