I've searched and searched and cannot locate anything relating to this particular problem. I've taken good advice from this forum in the past (replacement
pack and the seat sensor bypass) . . so I'm hoping that someone can help out this time.
Started the Clio (1.2 16valve 2002) and all was fine, however after approximately 5 minutes the engine stopped and the second STOP light was illuminated - (the one surrounded by the engine icon). The immobiliser LED isn't going mental so it can't be that. I've disconnected all the plugs and leads along with the
pack, cleaned and refitted but no joy.
The last issue I had with this piece of junk was the
loom was bitten through by the stupid metal surround. But refitting that after putting padding around and re-securing has cured that.
I've spoken to a local independent Renault specialist and he's said it's most probably an electrical fault and the majority of them won't come up on the diag's test, in fact apparently more often than not Clio's won't even talk to the diag machine. He mentioned it could take many hours to locate the source of the problem in such a case.
I'm stuck at present, not sure what to try next. There's no spark to the plug's so I figured my recently changed
pack maybe at fault. I'm going to check that tomorrow with a meter as per the Haynes manual. Failing that, anyone know a good local Renault specialist that's mobile that lives in the midlands who's not too expensive ?
Having moved into a new house this week that's equally throwing up problems I'm at a point where I'm considering torching both the house and the car.
