As long as you fill up with the good stuff from Tesco and not the stuff that had too much silicone in it a while back LOL

I use optimax of excillium around 97/98 RON

I have put 95RON in but only when I couldn't get to a higher octane pump.

The F4R engines fitted to the Mk2 clio sport range will happily take 95 with no problems, you just wont get full beans when you boot it.

THe best stuff to run on is V-power from shell as its a 99Ron Fuel and has a very good addative package the helps clean and protect the engine.

Because of the learning ability of the clios ECU it can take up to 100 engine starts before it makes the best use of the fuel grade you put in.

Before the V-power came out it was Optimax and it took a few months before the car picked up the change in petrol grade. I used to only get 280-290 out of a tank of petrol, now with the V-power i get 320 miles... even with a lead foot.

If you buy one of the new MK3 clio sports such as the R27 or 197 then it MUST be run on 98 RON + other wise it causes problems with the cat and engine performance.

Renault issued a recall on the cars to replace the hand books and the stickers on the filler cap to state that 95 must not be used.
