I'll look into that some more when the car is home, although I did give it a thorough once over when I took it all off to clean the throttle.

Anything else I could look into while I'm there?

Another update, this morning wife says engine light has now gone off, I brimmed the tank and put in a generous dose of fuel system cleaner after cleaning the throttle. Suspecting her driving style may be causing carbon build up on the injectors/plugs.

Re: Renault Clio - 1.2 16v Misfire Information

Sometimes an 'Italian Tune-Up' works wonders.

Basically, when the engine has warmed-up, accelerate hard in every gear, and the car clears itself of crud.

A bit of a sledgehammer approach, but sometimes it's the only way to crack a nut.

This job should never be complete - the day I think I've done it all, is the day I resign.

Re: Renault Clio - 1.2 16v Misfire Information

Hi all. Just reading through this thread and sounds a little bit like a problem that ive been having with my clio for a long time now. Its a 57 reg ripcurl addition.
Basically this problem is really intermittent. And the only time i can sort of put it down to is when im on about a quarter of a tank of fuel left. Il be driving and then it will seem like I cant accelerate any more and then the acceleration will just kick in again. It does it in every gear as well. Sometimes I can clear it by getting up a bit of speed and blowing it out. But then other times its there for the whole drive. Does this sound like the same problem? Some people have said it could be bad fuel but Ive tried shell, asda, bp, tesco and it always happens at some point.

Jez, that sounds like a dirty throttle body . You can search the existing threads for the cleaning method- might help and costs almost nothing...
