More problems from myr troublesome clio

We have been having some more troubles with our 96 Clio 1.2 SPI.

we left the car parked today and came back after 10 minutes and the engine would not start.

After a lot of turns the engine started and it started fine after that

we have noticed that the car now stalls if i reverse and then brake.

I have checked the oil and water and all is at perfect levels

Does anyone have any idea what these problems may be?

Might be worth doing a search for TDC - it's a common fault...

Possibly your icv/icu (Idle control valve/unit) on the way out, this sounds like the common problems that are experienced and then slowly you will notice that the actual idling of the car will become to start fluctuatng. Dont worry though it is cheap and easy to fix a second hand one from the scrappy and 20 mins should do it, wont even get your hands dirty. Other than that do clio's come with coil packs? It might be that if not the icv...

the clio's do have coil packs ranging from the single unit (like my 94) to pencil coils on the newer models.
