Re: Renault Clio II - Engine - Idle problems

Hiya....... Couldn't be anything as simple as a frayed or sticking throttle cable could it..... Have you checked it runs freely on the pully......Can you not adjust it~? I am new to Renault, maybe grabbing at straws here.......But, surely, the first port of call is to make sure that accelerator cable is working correctly.. Of course, I may be way off the mark here and other posts spot on..... But IMO, always start at the begining, the easiest and cheapest fix and progress from there.....Stacey.

Thumbs up Re: Renault Clio II - Engine - Idle problems DF7

Hi we have a 1.2 8v DF7 engine Clio Grande which had the same symptoms.
We changed the throttle body as the electrical connections are integral and can't be swapped independently. the fix came as a surprise...... Blown head gasket! We had mayonnaise( oil water mix) all over the throttle body . I checked inside the oil filler cap and there was way more in there. Mayo wasn't apparent at first it was only a fortnight from when the problem started to the head gasket problem discovery.
Cars fixed now and we were due to sell, but someone ran into the drivers door......they left their details so we can contact them......i know, i know i nearly fell flat on my face. We need to swap out the old door for a new one. Does anyone know if a 2001 -2006 door fit a 1998-2001 car?? will the wiring loom on 1998 car fit a 2001 door window switch? i have been advised to check the outer plastic door protector/ strip as they are different.
