Renault Clio - Buyer's Guides - Delivery Problems

My car has now been on order since May. Was originally supposed to take delivery of my 182 the 24th Oct, then the 4th Nov.

Received a call from Renault UK last Monday saying that the vehicle is going to stay in Dieppe for the forseable future. Renault are experiencing Trim Panel problems (Renault UK dont know what that means) and around 40 odd cars are going to be held there until the new parts are manufactured and delivered.

Last week Renault promised to provide me with a courtesy car until mine is delviered...... 7 days later none of my calls have been returned and still no courtesy car.

I know of at least 13 other people in exactly the same position and we will all be writing to the CEO of Renault, BBC Watchdog, BBC Topgear and Whatcar magazine for starters.

Is anyone else experiencing this kind of problem and does anyone know what a Trim Panel problem means?

Look forward to hearing from you

When I have some more free time, I'll relate the saga of the delivery delays I experienced with my Scenic in 1998. Don't expect Renault UK to help you, they appear to be totally disinterested in their customers.

This is normal stuff really!!! A friend of ours ordered a 182 ages ago and the delivery date had been pushed back about 6 times in the end!!! They said that it was in france awaiting parts!!!
Also my mother-in-law is waiting for a scenic that has taken ages!!!! Don't worry it will come!!!!!

My sister-in-law ordered a new shape Clio Diesel in November and was given a delivery date for January 15th.Renault then phoned and said that the car wouldn't be ready until 'mid' February.Although the car has to have a genuine Renault 'body kit' fitted before delivery I can't really see this would take a month to do.Now she is going to wait for March and get it registered as an 06 plate, and if the car is not ready by then the contract will be torn up and she'll go else where.I would have thought at a time when most manufacturers are struggling to sell cars that they would bend over backwards to get a car delivered on time, but this is obviously not the case with Renault(in the UK anyway). They seem to be of the opinion that they are doing us a favour by selling us these 'wonderful' cars..........
