Talking grand scenic electric hand brake faults

hi i had a problem with my electronic hand brake making a horribble screaching noise when it was applied and after many hours googling what it was i have worked it out and fixed it for 30 pence rather than replace it for around 600 pounds , 99 percent of problems are with the cables not the motor and as renault dont sell them seperate even tho i took them out no problem myself u have to but the complete unit the problem arrises from the outer blck plastic cable puckering up at the end making it shorter there for there is more cable to reel in so to compensate for this i put 3 washers on the end by cutting through the washer and placing them on the end and it solved all the problems if any1 wants some pictures just let me know and i will see if i can upload some , hope this helps some people save money cheers
