Re: Clio ABS, Break clumpning, help?
I had this with the wifes clio recently. To be honest it felt to me as though the brake pads were down to the metal, but i knew that the pads and discs were only 5 months old.I checked them anyway and found whilst looking that the drivers side reluctor ring was corroded and was cracked.I pulled the fuse for the abs so the car drove ok and got a new ring from the bay for a fiver. After replacing it and the fuse, problem solved.but i will admit it did feel like a brake pad problem. If you pull the fuse for the abs and ignore the warning lights and the grinding noise disappears,it is more than likely a cracked and corroded ring.A new driveshaft with new ring can be an option as well.
