Re: Rubbing noise when driving 2005 Clio
I can understand her reluctance, given what happened to me a good number of years ago.
I was a student (TPF&T cover was all I could afford), and had inherited my Dad's Corolla (he had stopped driving for health reasons).
I was sitting at a T-junction when some nutcase in a Cortina approached from my left, and cut the corner so much, he tore-off the driver's side front corner of my car.
He stopped, and we exchanged details, I had many witnesses; my passenger, other pedestrians - and therefore felt very safe that justice would be done.
How wrong I was.
My insurers told me that his car wasn't registered (pre-mandatory continuous registration days), and the address & name he had given me was fake.
So not only was most of my savings that I had earned from my weekend jobs used to pay for the repairs (using second-hand parts), but I was also penalised a year's NCB even though they never paid out a bean!
Livid doesn't even begin to cover how I felt, or the many curses I wished upon that man.
This job should never be complete - the day I think I've done it all, is the day I resign.
