I spent about 2 hours searching, but admit I was using more specific terms.

I'm used the older type of ABS sensors: the Variable Reluctance type with the a toothed reluctor ring and a magnetic sensor - not sophisticated, but quite rugged. I'm glad to hear the Laguna's sensor are safe to test with a multimeter (I have to get a scope one day...).

I'll hopefully get ahold of the car at the weekend and take a good look for myself what the light does. Fingers crossed it's as simple as high/low resistance on a sensor at system power-up causing the fault.

I'll post up whatever I find - hopefully it'll be of use to another newbie
