They may well have existed many years ago, when cars were sprayed by humans, rather than robots. But paint is very precisely and consistently applied these days, and certainly not to the extent where there is a surplus dripping off the car. If you think about it, as soon as the cars are painted, they are straight into an oven to be baked, so this would be a pretty pointless exercise.

Of course, there is nothing to stop you creating your own drain holes as long as you know there is nothing vital that you would be drilling into, and you would treat the bare metal accordingly to prevent corrosion.

The holes could be sealed with either a rubber grommet/bung or some seam sealer, once you have dried the carpets out, and dealt with the original leak.
