well spoke to renault and there is a special tool available for this job which is apparently 150 ish plus the vat. My local renault dealership doesn't have the tool so no paying them to do it. (They are also the local vauxhall dealer no joy there either) I went to remove the other side with which has a cracked disc and found that the bottom ball joint has been welded to the hub!!
Gonna get a couple of second hand complete hubs tomorrow hopefully and stick it back together.
If i can get some new bottom ball joints in the morning aswell all will be hunky dory
