Re: 2002 Laguna Wheel Bearing
Many thanks for your reply. I had a feeling it should be around a 2 hour job and looking at the info I have found I thought I should be able to do it without a puller, but could to have a 2nd opinion on that.
I have found the parts, Complete set up, for £85. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RENAULT-LA...item45ea31aff1
so would be a decent saving if I do this myself. Assuming these are the right parts, I will double check first.
The rear discs have ABS reluctor rings built in so it is advised to buy the rear discs complete with bearings, etc. The discs along with their bearings should remove easily without the need for a drawer unless they are seriously damaged but you'll not know until to start the job. Don't forget you also need a suitable large sized socket and a breaker bar to remove and replace the hub nuts.
Labour time in a well equipped and experienced garage would be around 2 hours tops so if you know the hourly rate and retail cost of the disc assemblies you should be able to work out the overall cost.
I guesstimate the retail cost of the parts to be around £200 and if labour cost is £60 per hour the rough price would be around what you have beem quoted, Then there's the dreaded VAT at 20%.
