Come to think of it, maybe it would be better if my Lag was nicked. Then I could buy a car without an immobiliser! As you probably know skap, you are not alone with your problem, there are many Renault owners out there with the same burning desire to buy a different make of car. Like Selwonk says, I usually turn the ignition to 1st position, disconnect + terminal on battery, reconnect, lock up car with blip and go inside for a cup of tea, then start again 10 minutes later, that usually works for me - if you are parked in a petrol station obviously you have to buy your own refreshments! It might be a good idea to keep a flask in the car.
