Given what you've changed, and that it seems to be running fine, I would conduct a brim-brim test and manually calculate the car's fuel economy.
That way, not only are you obtaining a true mpg figure for comparing with other owners - you will also obtain a base-line for monitoring progress, and either confirming the accuracy of the computer & gauge (or otherwise).
There's no point in chasing phantoms, when they may not actually be present.
That's a good point. Will do that and see how it goes. I bought this form my brother who often remarked on fuel efficient it had been for him, but don't know if he actually used the gauge at all.
