Personally, I would avoid the franchise route - I did.
There is a very high start-up cost, high ongoing licensing fees, you are limited to a fixed geographic area, you must buy all your consumables from them (at a price THEY decide), and they dictate the price you charge - which may not be appropriate for the local economy.
TBH, you aren't working for yourself, you're working for them - with none of the benefits.
