Re: First Timer Repair Project - 2002 Vauxhall Astra SXI
Andrew, like the proverb says 'from acorns grow.... mighty oaks' so yeah maybe make a start with your mates cars for experience and to develop your technique.......but only if they are the sort of people to give worthwile recommendations for other work and they don't take the p**s with 'mates rates' in getting a tidy repair done for pennies.
Remember the jobcentre I think allows you to work 16 hours etc so maybe you can advertise and do regular work without getting into trouble and buildling up a business. Would they help you with SMART training? like the courses in the above posts.
Go for it!! Especially while you chasing other job leads - this may come to fruition first and you'll be your own boss
Thanks, yeah they are the kinda guys to help, ok one is a lazy ass lol, but its something worth a try - as im going to sort out my mate Ash's car on Wednesday as he has wheel arch rust on 3 sides, so he said he would pay a decent rate - just quote him and he will see if he wants to do it lol,
And yeah, i dunno the rules exactly about working e.c.t but i just want to get of these poxy benefits!
And ill be asking the CrapCentre tomorrow, as im due to sign tomorrow so ill get onto them about smart training, and start from there i hope! :D!
Be my own boss.. but what do i do when i need to call in sick?!
