I would inspect the replacement parts, as they will show not only where the fitting points are, but also what type of fixings are involved.
Something I would (just as a precautionary measure) would be to measure the length of the load bay (from the inside of the sill) on both the driver's and passenger side to the rear of the seat - this will indicate if the floor has taken a clout.
If there is a difference in length - the tailgate & bumper will not seat correctly.
If all is well, I would change the bumper first (it'll be the easier of the 2 items), and bolstered with that confidence, tackle the tailgate - but they are 2 or 3-person jobs, don't try this alone.
This job should never be complete - the day I think I've done it all, is the day I resign.
