Re: Megane I Battery Bay Cover ?

Hello all, just joined the forums so I know this answer is bit late...however, I've just been fiddling with that exact area of my Megane and thought future users would find the answer helpful.
In the picture supplied you can see the battery cover half covering the battery (because it's a half cover). In the picture you can also see a silver coloured metal spindle sticking up through a U shaped section of the cover at the leading edge. There should be some sort of fixing on the hexagonal end to secure the cover. Mine is missing too :-)
That's what makes the cover loose and subsequently allows it to catch the windscreen wiper mechanism - why I was digging around in there.
The half cover protects the rear of the battery from water ingress via the bottom edge of the windscreen.
It was pretty easy to remove the black plastic panel above. The section even has the helpful instruction "unscrew this only to access battery". One screw out and (very) careful manipulation of the panel allows entry to battery. Don't force it off, as there are 3 white plastic clips holding the whole panel in, a catch towards the centre of the car and 3 integral lugs on the panel itself.
