Re: Scenic II handbrake module

Hi all. Need a fault diagnosis please. I had an inkling that my O/S parking brake has failed for some time. Jacked motor up today and sure enough the wheel spins freely with parking brake on??? But is solid when applying foot brake. Also with parking brake on I hear the brake motor operating and get the "brake service" light on the dash as soon as I spin the O/S wheel. This being the brake computer releasing both sides???
The strange thing is that there is movement at the caliper where the brake cable is but still no grip on the disc?? Anyone any ideas? Surely if the brake module was on its way out both sides would fail. For the record I have a 1.4 petrol model (5 seater). Hope someone can offer some info/advice.
