Question Re: Laguna Front Door Trim Removal

Many thanks to Madnoel10 and to Mord,

I have successfully removed the trim panel and the exterior handle thanks to you for your help.

I removed the door lock, found the exterior handle operating cable was not fully engaged, so after a "good shake and talking to" and a squirt of WD40, it worked.

Refitting the lock was successful and relatively easy. Unfortunately the electric lock, now, does not work. It had been making horrible noises when locking - unlocking was silent - for a couple of weeks. I had been trying to ignore it hoping it would go away!!

Now I have a door that can be opened from outside and inside, but not electrically locked using my key card remotely. All the other doors lock OK. The horrible noise has disappeared but the lock is now not working.

It looks as if I shall have to obtain a replacement lock assembly after all. Any suggestions where to obtain a used item, as a new lock asembly from Renault is in the region of 140!!

Kindest regards and thanks again.
