The handbrake cables should be disconnected from the calpier when retracting its piston - this allows the internal mechanism to be able to reset.
Ahhh, I think I'm starting to understand how the internals of these calipers work....does the foot brake work like any other ....pressure pushes piston out....but the handbrake mechanism rotates the piston anti-clockwise forcing it out....so when you wind the piston back in it resets the handbrake to maximum leverage ?
Would it be fair to assume that once you've changed the pads you must first pump the pedal up BEFORE applying the handbrake ?
If so I may have tried the handbrake first.....then pumped up the brakes....which would have undone all the good winding back I did ?
Or Iam I just way off the mark
