I wasnt 100% sure of the section, but this is good as its kinda bodywork.
When having a quick scan under the body today I noticed a loop of wirehanging down approx1.5- 2 in below the car.
It may have been like that for a week,I dont check that often.
Its a 2 wire sheathed cable approximately opposite the front jack points and locatedalong the rhs of the central exhaust tunnel.
It could be.I dunno reverse switch wire or anything.doesnt really matter.
It was very exposed to snagging. What I think happened was a branch or something caught the wire and pulled it out to its full play extent. There were some high winds around recently and fir tree branches etc on the ground.
Fortunately it didnt disconnect or get ripped in half.
I was able to push the wire back inside its holding clips to its original position.
So its "as new" but the same thing could happen again due to its kinda exposed position
Just thought Id do a couple of pics..
The first one..wtf is that!
My attempt at a cutaway view!
2nd is where I pulled the wire back out again a little to show where it is(it was out about an inch more than that).
3rd is where I pushed the wire back in its guide clips, you can see the clip that is clipped on to the edge of the exhaust tunnel, looks a bit exposed.
Anyway just something to watch out for if you have a meg III..or maybe other models too.
Perhaps a judiciously applied plastic tie clip would prevent it being pulled out again.
