If you plug the male part of the seatbelt extension into the seat belt 'socket' the car will think your seat belt is plugged in at all times. All this means is that you'll either not get a warning light on your dash or an annoying bing bong if you forget to buckle up.
If you are quite akin to buckling up every time you get into the car and not have to rely on the car telling you to do so then it's not really a problem!
