Re: CLOCKSPRING (aka "rotational connector!") *FIXED*
I have been studying these rotary switches for some weeks now!
I was able to repair one by resoldering the white ribbon on the tracks (you have to melt some plastic to uncover the tracks!)!
Some other time i've tried repairing another rotary switch but after resoldering the ribbon i found out that only ONE of the two fault codes disappeared! Circuit 1 was fixed,,,, circuit 2 (of airbag) still had a fault!
I've heard that people use ribbon from Printers and PCs to repair these , but after aquiring these printer ribbons i have found out that they are too hard for the rotary movement!
Still looking for a suitable ribbon for this repair,,,,, yes,, repair is possible but not an easy job!
