If it's possible to get just that section replaced, then that's all I would change, tbh.

There's no point in throwing out the baby with the bathwater, and it may well be that the section which has corroded is in a vulnerable location, which may well see it needing replacement again, whilst the original section fore & aft is fine.

Regarding the MOT, as far as I'm aware, as long as the pipework & connections are robust & leak-free, then there are no problems with connections.
