Re: Sanding brake discs

Thanks everyone for all your opinions, they have all been very useful.

It's a quite unusual case really.

I have looked at the brake discs on the outside and I see zero rust.

The MOT guy showed me on the other side of one brake disc (i.e. the surface you can't see when you are next to the car, you have to go under the car and look outwards towards the wheel) and to be honest I didn't see any rust there either, although I didn't look so closely at the time.

I am wondering if he ist just an extremely precise examiner or is new and over-enthusiastic, as people who start a new job often are.

In any case, I am going to get this fixed in the next couple of weeks and will let you know how it goes with the MOT etc.
