That's not strictly true,for a disc to fail on corrosion it has to be deemed to be unsafe,i.e very heavily pitted and likely to fail under heavy braking.Whether it passes or fails the brake test is irrelevant,it is just down to actual condition of the disc.

The pass standard is pretty awful here,I once had my wrists slapped for failing a (what I considered to be) badly corroded disc.
