Without taking the cap off the over flow take a look at and around the top of overflow bottle, see if you can see any movement of coolant in there.
I'd do this with the engine cold so you can get someone revving the engine while you're looking, if there plenty of movement of coolant I'd guess the pump to be (maybe OK)
