I was more wondering whether a light ish tap with a hammer may free a sticking caliperenough to diagnose it as just that. Then I could grease the pins to alleviate the problem.

How long is a piece of string I suppose.

Is there anything inside the caliper that's likely to fail and cause these symptoms?
