Hi Warden, the battery died in one of my prior Renaults in just the same way, in fact quicker I'd finished a journey of around 200 miles with no problems whatsoever I then stopped for a rest and a bite to eat. BTW this was in the middle of the summer maybe an hour or so later I went back to the car and turned the key and got nothing it was dead. The AA came and jump started the car this guy told me of a place from where I'd get a new battery about 10 miles away and suggested I should follow him, it was on his way back. When we got there I stopped the car and tried to start it again, nothing the same, it was dead. The battery was OME about 8 years old so I couldn't complain.
Currently in hondo's garage:
1.6 Valve-Matic SR. Red hot, toasty feet.
