Just to confrim,it is perfectly acceptable to cut and replace sections of brake pipes and join in new pipe.It is often the case that the front to rear pipes will be perfect for the first three quarters so replacing just the corroded section in-situ is fine. You need a bl00dy good flaring tool to be able to form the end on the original steel pipe though,a lot of flaring tools can't clamp the pipe tight enough and when you try and press the end of the pipe to flare it the pipe just slides up through the clamp.
