Re: Laguna II ph I Front Wiper Linkage - advice please

I was half-right. I took the linkage out - it was very stiff and felt 'gritty' when moved by hand.

After dismantling, cleaning the spindles, re-greasing and re-assembling it was significantly easier and smoother.

However, the stiff spindles had placed strain on the motor and although it isn't seized completely, it is definitely on its way.

Perhaps if I hadn't kept trying the motor once the issue had become noticeable, I wouldn't have knackered the motor.

Thanks to Autoglass - I had a new screen two years ago. When they had the wiper arms off to change it, they'd greased the spindles and the retaining nut with copper grease. Getting the arms off this time was doddle but I do remember lots of shoving and swearing when they had to get them off to change the screen.

If you can get the arms off without a battle, the job is simple. Swapping the parts out could be done in under an hour.
